Forest adventures
We run various Forest projects for different age groups over term time and school holidays
Join us for a forest adventure!

Term Time Forest Adventures for Under 5s with parents - these are fully inclusive sessions that run on Wednesdays 10am -11.45am
Holiday Forest sessions - split by age groups - under 7s and 4-10 years

These take place in our Forest woodland at the back of the Yorda Playhouse. The sessions are completely outside and you can access our indoor toilets and baby change at any time throughout the session.
Forest Adventures is all about the outdoors. Come and explore our mud kitchens, climb up into the treehouse or play on the swings and slides. Splash about in our stream or do some digging in the muddy area.

As well as free play, there are opportunities to get involved with planned activities; crafting things out of natural materials, campfire skills and cooking.
All our sessions are run by a fully qualified Forest praticioner, Yorda staff and volunteers

Forest is a great place to make friends, get messy, take risks and learn about nature!

FAQs
Who is eligible for the 1-1 Childcare program?
Children must live within a 5-mile catchment area and meet at least two areas of significant support needs (Communication and Interaction, Personal Care and Independence, Challenging Behaviour, or Additional Health Conditions). An assessment process and phone call are required to determine eligibility.
What types of 1-1 childcare sessions are available?
An after-school club and holiday playschemes are available for 5–19 year olds. (Please note: Overnight adventure holiday respite breaks for ages 8+ are currently on hiatus) .
How do I book a 1-1 childcare spot?
An application form is sent out prior to the project. Because the program is oversubscribed, meeting the criteria does not guarantee a spot; a lottery system is used to fairly distribute spaces, and you will be notified if you are successful.
When do Family Play sessions take place?
Sessions run on Saturdays and Sundays during term time, after school on Fridays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, and on varied weekdays during school holidays.
Do staff supervise the children during family sessions?
No. While staff are present and happy to assist when needed, parents/carers are responsible for their children and must supervise them at all times.
How and when can I book?
Bookings can be made online via https://bookwhen.com/yordafamilysend. Play slots for the upcoming month are released by the end of the previous month. If you are on the mailing list, an email will be sent in advance notifying you of the specific release day and time.
