who we are
We started with a simple belief that every individual life
matters, 20 years later, I’m proud this is still the single thought that drives us, and makes Yorda Adventures so unique and special to our families, Laura Smyth, MBE. We are driven by the passion and desire to make a difference to each and every person who comes into our Yorda world - and feel privileged to be able to do so too.

playteam
Our playteam are made up of leaders from our SLT, all of whom have been with Yorda for over five years, which makes them expert in all things at Yorda, whether it's playing with our children or fixing a trampoline! They lead a group of sessional playworkers who make up the energy. Our play team is at the heart of everything we do for both our Yorda Clubs and Family Play Projects. They create fun, welcoming and inclusive sessions where children and young people with additional needs can simply enjoy being themselves.
Whether they're leading sensory activities, imaginative play, games or creative projects, the team works tirelessly to ensure every child feels valued, understood and celebrated. Their warmth, dedication and expertise provide families with a place where everyone belongs.

forest team
Our forest team create a place where children can explore, discover and thrive in the great outdoors. Every session is carefully planned to encourage confidence, independence and a sense of adventure, while ensuring every child feels safe, supported and included.
From campfires and woodland crafts to nature trails and outdoor play, our team believes that some of the most important learning happens outside. Their passion, patience and enthusiasm help every child build skills, friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

trustees
Our board of trustees provides the guidance, experience and governance that helps Yorda Adventures continue to grow and support families across our community.
Giving their time voluntarily, our trustees bring a wealth of professional knowledge and a shared commitment to our mission. Working alongside the leadership team, they help ensure the charity remains financially sustainable, well governed and focused on delivering the very best outcomes for the children, young people and families we support.

our patron
We are proud to have Garry Woodcock as Patron of Yorda Adventures. Garry's support, advocacy and commitment to our charity help raise awareness of our work and the difference it makes to children and young people with additional needs and their families. His encouragement and belief in our mission are invaluable as we continue to grow and create opportunities for every child to experience adventure, friendship and belonging.
